Default lower balljoint question

i purchased a new set of lower balljoints from the dealer (dont have the pn in front of me) for my ex knuckles. the currant ones have a circlip holding them in place. the new ones i got from honda do not have the grove for the clip to sit in. instead, it has an an angled surface. but angled the whrong way for the clip to hold.
anyone know whats going on here? what balljoints they could be for?

i think sometimes the parts guys are dislexic(sp). I got a H22 head gasket when i asked for a GSR head gasket. it could be they gave you the wrong part. Due to wrong year, or wrong model.

16 - 52338-SL0-003 016 CIRCLIP, CONTROL ARM - $2.53
25 - 90653-SB0-000 025 CIRCLIP (OUTER) (40MM) - $3.57

it shows the need for circlips like your original ones...maybe they gave you a set of different ones or unfinished ones...mislabels do happen.

The new replacement balljoints are like that. The one for my ef, eg, and da all did not have the circlip. Its the new design, and i believe the balljoint is slightly oversized. You should have no problems

its fine. new OEM balljoints dont require a circlip. toss the original circlip.

once its fastened to the LCA, its not going to back out, so no circlip needed anyway. kinda redundant for honda to put that there in the first place.
