Default down size??? (b20 to b18c1)

well i've come to the conclusion that my rex isn't that fast....well first of all the b20 bottom end is all stock...the head is built though.....i beat a lot of people and my 1/4 is 13.7 all motor 12.7 with a 70 dry shot....i was wondering if you guys would buy a b18c1 block and swap it out...its a b16 head that i'll put on the block

so basically what do people or you guys run with a gsr bottom and b16 head?? or just straight gsr??

thanks

how much are u revving it up to and how much headwork is done?
u can just throw some pistons and rods and get the crank balance/polished and make big power, get mid-low 12s na in your crx

headwork is all done ....the only thing that could be missing is a p&p .... but there's always room for improvement in the cams department....anyway....im not gonna throw pistons and rods in the b20....if im gonna do that i might as well save and sleeve the gsr block and make it 84mm bore....

do you have a poor mans type r in your car? or a gsr?

ive got a b20 but its coming out for a b18c (jdm gsr) which i will eventually be boosting
also what yr/model rex u have?
a hf or dx of 88-89 should be able to do 12s with the gsr/b16 worked head combo too

the only bad thing is that you made the b16 head for ls/vtec, and its kinda hard to reverse it...

oooook.....for ls/vtec you have to plug one of the oil feeds and then tap for oil feed to the head....and what i was saying is that it is a bitch to reverse this...

Your running a stock bottom b20 ? Did you do anything to the pistons, I'm surprised you did not smack a valve yet
