Default How is my timing for 8.5:1 compression and 94 octane ?

These are JE 9:1 pistons, but on a GSR block with B16 head(ARP studs). The head gasket is a .043 cometic. upgraded valve springs, ACL bearings, and eagle rods torqued to spec. Victor X manifold, and GT3076eR turbo(1bar spring). I am using boost comp tuning on the AEM and have my A/F about 11.7-11.9:1. stock ignition and GSR cams.

It feels great on the highway with no noticable misfires. I just want to make sure I'm running good timing before I start turning up the boost. The first race I'm going to in the detroit area is next weekend at Milan, hope to see you there. I'll post my results in the drag forum.

Steve
ps. if anyone wants my AEM cal file just ask.

Did you sync your ignition timing to AEM ?
I guess you dont have access to a dyno ?

sorry to thread jack...but when you say sync...you mean that when the Aem shows zero timing, the engine is firing at TDC...and 10deg on the AEM fires at 10deg on the engine. Correct? Been something I was curious about on mine and I haven't found any good literature on it yet. Didn't know if a honda still needed its base timing and then the AEM still adds to that.

thats a touch more timing than i would start out with, but you should be ok with the lower compression. it will probably end up with even more than what you have there.

Read the aem documentation.

Cool...Thanks for the automated, non-helpful response
How bout u read it champ. I'm under the understanding that 10deg in the EMS is 10deg at the engine, but I wanted to verifie.

Thanks for the reply, I know it's a little agressive, but I was hoping the lower compression would allow for that. The turbo spools very fast, and I want to make sure everything is relatively safe before I start to turn up the boost.
