Advice needed on a 2nd bike...
Just want some peoples opinions. I'm 23 years old, I've been riding for about a year now and I don't really have many people to ride with. The few people I do ride with have either sportsbikes or cruises. I would REALLY like a custom cruiser of some kind with loud pipes but I also would like a sports bike. Theres more young people riding sportsbikes these days and I'd be able to find more people to ride with but on the other hand all I hear about is how everyone is laying their bikes down or wrecking them.
If I find a sports bike I could pay around 5 or so and get a descent bike. The insurance will be alot higher and I'll still have to see if I can afford that. Right now I have a 96 Shadow VLX w/ custom pipes and a 180 series tire on the back. It sounds okay but I want something more like a custom ironhorse or maybe a heritage softail with some mods done to it. I pay about 200 a year on insurance so thats a huge saver there.
What kind of bike do you have and why did you purchase that bike. Also, be reasonable but what bike would you like to have over the one you have now...
Also, how does a sports bike feel? Are they comforable?

If you ride responsibly, you won't wreck any bike you're riding. You can never be 100% safe on a bike, but if you're not a ham-fisted idiot you should be ok.
I'd also love to own a cruiser someday, and I have promised myself I will.
I have an SV which is like a naked sportbike. If you are economically able to have 2 bikes...do it. It's a lot cooler than having 2 cars.

Not because other people ride them or because chicks think they are hot.
I got it because I plan on riding, then crashing, then riding and crashing some more at the track.

The only cruiser I could ever see myself on is a roadstar warrior. That thing is seriously the meanest looking bike.
I can't really relate to them. But I learned on a sport bike, I don't really see the point in owning a bike unless it goes faster than you ever could in a car under 100K.

There are fast cruisers too. They tend to be a bit more expensive, but if you want straight line speed there are cruisers that will blow the doors off of most sports cars.
