Default Oh boy did I get the wrong glove box???

I got a glove box to replace my broken one. Looks a bit smaller inside and the hinges look different. It's from a 95 ex and I have a 93 si. I figured it would fit. Did I screw up?

Grab a screw driver.
Walk outside.
Open passenger front door.
Try installing it.

Wow, that was hard.

Didn't work when I tried it. The 95 I took it from had a passenger side airbag, and my 93 Si didn't, it was much different.

I thought you could buy new glove compartments for fairly cheap. If I were buying parts from a different model car I woulda asked first. And yes wouldn't it have been easier to go try to install than to ask?

Anyway, try a junkyard... There are civics everywhere.

It was actually a very good post. As you can see, some assumed that it would fit w/out issue, when in reality, it doesn't even come close to fitting. Some people will actually learn something from this thread.

I wasn't knocking the post, just the fact that he asked without trying. Kinda like the ask without searching thing, except much easier to find the answer. The best way to put this post would have been "the 95 civic ex glove compartment does not fit in a 93 civic si" which would have still educated, and would have offered a more direct answer when someone searched for a similar post.

BTW, I would have assumed also that the part would fit, so I'm not even talking bad about him buying the part. I would have checked if the part numbers matched on a site like hondaautomotiveparts.com or something though...

Kinda glad it didn't fit anyways. It's smaller inside and weights about 10 pounds compared to the si 2 pound glove box.

I did manage to jerry rig the broken hinge and get it working again. See how well it will work but I think it's gonna hold.

92-93 glove box are the same
94-95 are different cause of the passenger airbag

people, stop assuming **** and mis informing people !

Im sorry, but my post was valid. It probably took you more time to turn on your computer and post this, than it would to go pull the glove box down, remove the few screws that hold it up and actually try test fitting it.
