Broken Valve cover nut
Ok, so i just got done replacing a broken stud that was located under the spark plug cover wires. no problem everything went as planned. I was being extra careful but still somehow managed to strip the nut on the lower right side of the valve cover.
The stud itself did not break (and if it did i have a replacement right here) because it will not come out when i turn it. So I guess the actual nut or the threads on the stud got stripped. I tried taking out all the other nuts holding the valve cover on and pulling up on it while turning the nut, still no results. Any sugestions ?? If I could put enough upwards pressure on the nut i think i could get it but im not about to jam a screw driver under by just bought b18c and scratch up the head.
Also, to top it off acuraautomotiveparts.com sent me the wrong valve cover gasket, its for a SOHC.

i honestly do not understand which nut referring to, sry couldnt help free bump.
the only idea i had but i dont know if it would acutally work is break the stud, if u have a replacement right there break the stud replace the stud. then find a temp nut to use until u can get a new one.

I cant break the stud, because the valve cover is covering it. Ok, it goes stud, VC, grommet, nut. I cannot get to anything under the valve cover, otherwise I would just replace the stud and use one of the spark plug cover nuts.
Hmmm... even if the threads were stripped you should be able to get the nut off. It's possible that the stud itself is loose from the head and that's what's turning when you turn the nut. If you haven't alread, try loosening the nut continuously while pulling up on the valve cover. Regardless of whether the nut is stripped or the stud is loose, you should be able to get it off. Does that make sense? Hope that helps.
