Default Air & Oil Filters & Oil?

Can anyone give me any suggestions on what are the best air and oil filters to use on my Accord 2001? Are K&N worth the money? And what about Oil real oil or synthic what is the best?

Thanks Darren

K&N for the air filter. Honda oil filter (some say the s2000 filter is best), and for oil Mobil1.

I agree but I would use GC (Castrol 0w-30). Good stuff

Great thanks for the info! So is there only one size of S2000 filter? And it fits on a 2001 Accord?

Not sure what the size is, but I'm pretty sure it will fit.

Black castrol Syntec bottle, says "Made in Germany" on back..

A lot better than M1. M1 Shears down to almost a 20 weight.. GC is a much better choice, and you're safe with 7500 mile OCIs

K&N OEM air filter (unless you got an intake), K&N oil filter (has a really convenient nut welded on to it, really easy to take on and off), and Castrol Synthetic (switch to high mileage when you got plenty of miles on it)

you get what you pay for!

I'm pretty conservative when it comes to oil changes, but at 3k miles it looks like the day I poured it in. It is a little more expensive, but you get what you pay for!

Regular US Castrol is nothing more than a Synthetic labeled Group III basestock

i use a honda OEM oil filter
AMSoil for my choice of lubercation
and for the filter...well when you got a turbo it really doesn't matter as long as it "cleans"
i am using a HKS one at the particular moment

So sounds Like K&N air filter is the best, and Castrol Synthetic is the next best choice. Has anyone had any problems switching from regular oil to a syntheic.

The reason I ask is because I used to own an Isuzu I-mark turbo and it had about 35K on it when I switched to Synthetic and it developed an oil leak. A mechanic told me that Synthetics are so slippery that if you don't use it from when the car is new the seals are not used to it and they may not seal and you get leaks??? Any truth to that? Any one else experience
this? I just got my Accord and it has 61k on it.

Make sure its 0w-30 german castrol, because regular castrol is crap. You'll be fine switching.
GC can only be found at Autozone.
