Finished b16 swap, wont start,.
Hey everyone.
I just installed a b16a in my 1990 crx si. I am runing it obd0 and using the hasport v-tec harness. The car will not start or sputter at all. I was getting weak spark so I replace the dizzy, I have good spark, have fuel, compression, the main relay works. I sparyed started fluid down the throttle body and when I cranked the motor over it did not even sputter. I have tried adjusting the timeing by moving the distiburor around but it has done nothing. When I turn the ignition to "ON" The ECU flashes the one ready light once. I do have the right firing order also.
I was told the engine will start without the v-tec hooked up. I have 2 wires I still need to hook up from the hasport harness. They go into b5 and b19 at the ecu(v-tec oil pressure and the knock sensor). I have the honda pin removel tool but I canot get the original pins out of the ecu harness. Could these two wires be causeing the no start? I thought they only are for v-tec. What else can I check?
Thanks for the help.

Double check you have all your connectors in your harness snapped together good and tight. Test your resistor box. Do you know for sure you are getting fuel in the cylinders and not just to the fuel rail? Did you replace the timing belt?......if so, double check it's in right.
That's all I can think of right now, but good luck

amen, i believe you need 4 grounds for it to start.

You should still be able to start it without VTEC. Check the fuses under the hood and check all of your grounds. To remove the pins that are in the harnesses, as archaic as it is, you can hold the harness FIRMLY and yank it very QUICKLY. Keep in mind, you may break some wires so do it at your own risk...
well he said that he was getting weak spark before he swapped the dizzy... now he seeps to be getting no spark @ all... was the dizzy used...if so the connecter wires may have been changed around a bit... just a possibility..
