that sounds pretty damn good to me (sorry it was stolen - that sucks ****
). Consider - if you bitch tooooo much about more $$ for mods, they may enjoy raising your rates thru the roof. jmho
**dreaming my '98 only had 19,000**
Good Luck!

$21,500 isn';t too bad, but I'd try to give them receipts on EVERYTHING installed in the car, then bitch them out a little. Might be able to milk them for a little bit more.

I would take it
Its a good amount of money to go out a nuy a new car..or a MAJOR down payment on something like a WRX or IS300

With that much additional invested in the vehicle, you may be able to get additional $$$. Was this their initial offer? If so send them a counter offer that would better correlate with the true value of the car...
Take a look at this ad for a 1998 Type-R with 29,500 miles for $19,500...you can get more money.

See, there ya go...
They will not cover $7000 worth of parts, because they are not brand new anymore. I talked to my insurance company about this before and they said that due to the deprication (sp?) they do not cover the full cost.
$21,500 sounds good to me
What are you thinking of getting to replace the R?

I got 21,000 for my 2000 ITR, plus 55cents on the dollar for parts, it came to a total of 24,500, just for a basic of comparison, I had $7000 in mods.

i gave them receipts for everything
my adjuster told me that some of the oem parts i replace costs about the same if not more than the aftermarket parts
so, according to Vegeta:
7000x.55=3850
21500-3850=17650

Its weird how tha tworks tho...because how does the insurance company know what parts were on teh car? Sure you can have receipts...but what if you sold the parts?
Example..I have all my receipts from my non-VTEC cams, mnaifold, ECU, etc etc...yet I sold all that stuff. So if my car wa stolen..I could give them the receipts and get it covered?

I think although you might feel that it is worth more that it is a good deal.
Mine was settled for the total purchase price of $24,930. plus $1000. for my down payment. So it cleared my loan and gave me some extra $$$$ to order and buy my new car. Remember that my car was a 2001 with 9,000 miles on it and it was totalled.
I did however buy it back for salvage, Ya know how much for the whole thing to be delivered to my doorstep? $4,700. I promptly sold it to one of my club members.
I deal with Statefarm. I just saw my insurance adjustment for this year, it only went up $400. for a total loss. I'm lucky I guess with my life and my cars.
I guess you could make sure to show every reciept for anything you had in the car and they should settle based on the valuse of the car plus the added items.
Good luck man, I know how you are feeling. Hope to see you at our next meet. I'm sure someone could pick you up.
A.
PS now you just gotta settle on which new car to get

I think that's reasonable consider your car is almost 4 years old.......I don't think you can get all the $$ on your mods.....but you can try to talk to them about that. ( Good Luck ).
Remember to let's us know what you gonna buy to replace your lovely R.
