Default Mini-me Project

I am in the process of doing a mini-me swap on my 89 CRX. So far I started with a shell for $80, and a 91 CRX Si motor for $80 also which I am rebuilding now. I have bought an Apex'i vtec contoller and a Z6 head to do the swap so far. After I get some more money I will be converting it to OBD1 and using the D16Z6 ecu. I would like to know though if anyone has tried going with forced induction on this swap. I have heard it nets a somewhat high compression around 12:1 I believe and I don't really want to lower it and lose power at the same time. This car is not a daily driver as I have another vehicle so downtime is no problem but any help would be appreciated.

the compression is not going to be that high on a stock a6 block....not for sure what it will be, but you can run a turbo on it...

Once I get the head on I'm going to measure the comprssion to make sure. Hopefully If all goes well I should have it running and painted in about 2-3 weeks. I have some pics but I don't think I can post yet.

I agree with you, I f*ckin hate when people just post to say "USE THE SEARCH FEATURE", wtf, this is a forum, and you talk to others, if you needed to search something, im sure you already know how to use google or some other sh*t.

try to be helpful, dont post to say RESEARCH, cause it doesnt help.

/end of rant.

good luck with your swap buddy.

your cr is only gonna be around 10:2:1 to 10:5:1
IMO if you use a thin metal headgasket from the Y8 it should help up the CR... but if you really want to get 12s on it try to swap out the pistons w/ d16a1 (zc pistons) w/ LS rods...
btw good luck wid this project...

and yes people have used turbo on the mini-me setup... but use low CR around 9:5:1

d16z6 head with a d16a6 block will get 9.95:1 compression. and all d-series share the same headgasket now (3-layer metal), no difference between Y8 and Z6 or any of them.
