OT: Anyone ever heard of www.warrantybynet.com
I was checking out Kelly Blue Book and saw a link to http://www.warrantybynet.com
It is some type of warrenty you can get for your car. It seems to cover just about anything that could go wrong with your car. I was thinking about it possibly. Anyone have opinions of this or ever dealt with these guys?
Oh, and it is only $700 for five years for full coverage on everything and no deductible.

So that would be a nine year warranty (five added to the initial four)? If not, it is effectively only a one year warranty; if it is, it sounds too cheap.
In any case, I would stay away from aftermarket warranties - they are rarely factory equivalent bumper-to-bumper warranties. A 7/75 factory warranty can be had for about $900.

My buddy has "Hondacare" for his GSX, and he pays monthly. Its pretty much the same type of thing, an aftermarket warranty.
So far, its been awesome. Free 100mile towing when his clutch blew (he actually just used it twice, 100 miles, stopped, then another 100 miles, all free). His tire blew out recently on the highway, and sure enough, a tow truck was there instantly, and also paid to replace the tire. So far so good!

i stay away from aftermarket warrentys now after a bad experience with one.
why?
because it came down to a broken transmision and their word vs. mine. guess who won that

My factory warranty on my R is due to expire sometime in feb...i called to Acura dealer to see how much it would cost to extend it...the guy told me that it would cost me $2400 for a 7/100K (from the date of purchase...not from the date that the warranty was extended) meaning that i would have another 3 years warranty on my car..
Does the price of warranty differ from state to state or from any particular county or area in a state???
A 7/75 factory warranty can be had for about $900.
You can buy a warranty from any Acura dealer. Where you live is not relevant. (Most charge a lot more than $900 for a 7/75 though.) http://www.4acura.com sells them for close to cost.
I do not see any point of going with third party warranties when the Acura one can be had this cheaply.
