I did a search and found quite a few posts, but no specific answers. I need to replace my front wheel bearing. I know the bearing itself is cheap, but I was wondering how much it would cost if I took my car to the shop and had them install the new bearing? If it is that expensive I will just take off my hub assembly and take that and the bearing to them. I don't have much free time, so a price on just driving your car to midas and having them do it would be great!

 

50 bucks, i'll have it in and out in 30 minutes.

dam, that's a sweet deal. you better take that deal or you're retarded. if this guy is credible, that is. but since you're meeting him and can watch, i say do it.

 

if I recall, it would cost around $300 if you just drive it there and have them do it.

 

my old mechanic use to charge me $60-$80 for wheel bearing replacement (done it the OC). That was when I didn't have the wheel bearing tool available at the time. $300 is a rip IMO
