needing help finding a race track
Hey, this is my first post so if its crap i apoligize now
Well I've been looking most of the day for a race track in Va that you could drive your own car on. I've found one but its only has two dates that you can attend the track. I also found another one but you drive a car that the track provides. So I was wanted to know if anyone knew of an oval race track that you can drive your own car around in. Either in Virginia or North Carolina. I want to take the boyfriend, who owns an ITR, for a day where he can just drive is own car around for his birthday. Wanted it to be a surprise but he's probably reading this now
Any ideas? Please let me know! Thanks

You are DEFINITELY not looking hard enough, or not looking in the right place.

^^^ You can start looking here.
BMWCCA and NASA are my two favorite clubs, but that is a pretty limited experience. Porsche Club of America is occasionally hard to run with. There's F-Body clubs, Audi clubs, etc., that are not picky who comes out.
Also, since VIR is close, take a peek at their event calendar:

Audi Club, BMW and NASA will all allow you to come out. You may need to join the respective clubs first. Tracquest (http://www.tracquest.com/) is running there too.
It's a blast, get you butt out to a track! Any track will do, but VIR is one of my favorites.

p.s. every school calls these "HPDE's", or High Performance Driving Event / Driver Education. This is the format you are looking for.

See, people make the trip from Chicago and New York, and it's just in your backyard

Depending on where you are in VA, you might also try Summit Point in/near Charles Town, WV.

Check under BSR for a "Friday at the Track" or something like that.
