Default Which company to buy FPR from?

Basically I'm just wondering which company makes a good fuel pressure regulator that would easily bolt up to an otherwise stock fuel system. Also, is it typical to have to buy the gauge separately? The gauges seem harder to find, so who makes a good gauge that would bolt up to an aftermarket FPR? My mods are in my sig if you're interested. Thanks for any help.

aeromotive is really good

then you have B&M which requires modifying the stock FPR

then there's AEM

i think there are some others.

B&M or any other regulator "modifier" are crap, I've seen numerous problems with people having them start leaking or behaving strangely.

Aeromotive makes really good regulators, but they are standalone units and will require you to plumb AN hose both to and from the regulator adding extra expense. They also don't work with a stock rail unless you drill and tap the rail, which is not worth the effort.

I had an AEM regulator and rail that worked great for me, the regulator has interchangable jets for the return (so people with 255lph pumps can put in the middle jet and not have any overflow issues at idle).....

As for gauges, the B&M gauges are total crap too. I had one and it broke, I got an autometer gauge and never had another problem. Usually rails (like the AEM) will have a place to put the gauge on the rail and the aeromotive regulators have a spot for a gauge as well on teh regulator.

Hope that helps..

As Firedrake said, the B&M's are crap. Don't even bother with them; if you do, you won't have a stock FPR to put back on when it fails.

The Aeromotive would be your best bet, IMO, but it does require more work to get it to work.

The AEM is pretty popular among the board, but I will never run one. I have seen/heard of two from friends that failed, out of nowhere or while they were brand new, so I don't think I would be willing to try them out.

Isn't there one out by SX?
