Default So much work done, yet so much more to do....

well, the Ls/Vtec build is done and running in the car, i drove it for a few days and thought man this is pretty quick, 186whp 145trq in a 91 DA.

soi took it to the track tonight, and the best time i could get was 15.4... now stock GSR's run somewhere around there...

the only conclusion i can come to is all this power in my motor dont do much good on stock suspension and stock 14x5.5 wheels... that and it was my first time at the track, so i gotta learn how to drive.

any comments?

How was your launch? What was your 60ft? That would help to see if you got off the line quick enough. Your making some good numbers though, hopefully by learning how to drive a little better you can bring the time down.

It wouldn't hurt to upgrade suspension, but the 14's should be just fine, unless you have some slicks lying around.

well, we tried to put some of my friends old springs on there, but the back ones didnt fit, and didnt have time take the front ones off, so my front was slammed, and camber pretty screwed up too.

my 60 time was like 2.5..

i figure those kind of numbers on my car should be running mid to low 14s
am i over estimating my car?

Practice, practice, and more practice.

60ft was crappy, get that down to around 2 - 2.1 (street tires + FWD = )

What was your trap speed?

Trap speeds and the weight of the car will usually reveal how "fast" your car is even with a crappy reaction time. So 91mph, 2,650 est weight...so you are looking at about 14.5's.

Just going to take practice, coming down to launching mainly...learning how (and what rpm) to slip your clutch instead of dumping it. Also getting your shift points down, sometimes redline is not always the best.

Good luck.

Let's look at it this way...

when I had one of my EM1's still bone stock, I ran a 15.4 at 86mph. EM1 are 99-00 Si Coupe's...so you are looking at a little more weight than your DA.

So yeah, I see your car hitting 14.5's with practice.

Im putting a j1 tranny in next week, then a few weeks after that ordering some 16X7 wheels and tires, then getting some omnipower coil overs.

then i'll go back and see how i do.
