eddie you were right about the 3rd and 4th syncro set are not the smae
the h23 is smaller then the h22 and wont fit ..so mine had to do ..

i ended up changing the 1/2 synros, sleevs and hubs

3rd and 4th had to stay (not in to bad of shape....i did use the h23 sleeve ..crap i think i did lol

swaped the whole 5th gear set from th h23 since mine was toast......all went to gether pretty good ..
took 2 and a half hours to tear them both down and reassembly the h22 tranny

Sounds like you have a handle on it. Did I read right or did you say that you put the H23 fifth gears in yout M2F4 transmission? So you have a lower cruising rpm in 5th?

yea i my 5th was so far gone it didnt even grab..just sliped ..so instead of buying a 300 dollar gear set i just used the 5th from the h23 .it was in great shape .(dont worry i took the 5th from the countershaft as well lol)
i did use the hub and sleeve from the 3/4 since mine was gound down a lot but the syncros them selves wouldnt not fit

im still wondering if i should buy the new 5th gear shift fork....the h23 had no signs of grinding and im thinking i might just use it ...or spen the 65 bucks to get the new one that is fixed supposidly

i also had to use the counter shaft from the h23 as my h22 had a nasty casting flaw right in the bearing area.....no wear but just a hole almost
