Default Q on cleaning the thottle body, cooant flushes, and tranny flushes

I have a 97 accord inline 4 auto EX with 72k

1. Should I clean my throttle body and if so, how do i get the accelerator wires off? I looked it up in the manual and it look do able. I just can't figure out the wires part. Can i just take the plastic intake off and clean it without taking the throttle body off, or would i have to take it off the clean it good?

How do you adjust these accelerator wires? my wires seem loose relatively? I'm not sure how to tell if they are adjusted correct.

2. I tried to flush my coolant but i couldn't get the drain bolt off the block. Is it a good idea to get a breaker bar and try to tug at it? I don't want to break anything, that would cause a leak.

I bought a flushing kit that my bro was suppose to help me with but, i don't get how to use it. he said "I had to get to some hoses near the fire wall but, the throttle body and **** is in the way."

3. Is it worth spending money on 5 extra bottle of auto tranny fluid to flush it? Or should I just change it at every 15k?
I drive somewhat hard so, should i change the atf sooner than 15k, how often do you think?

Go buy some air intake system cleaner (ie. BG part #4068) and disconnect your air intake hose ... start the car and spray liberally into throttle body while revving the motor by hand with the throttle rotor. Do not let the car stall and rev the **** out of it. When you see a bunch or black/grey smoke, don't be alarmed. You're burning up all the carbon that you just released.

As far as your coolant goes.. short of having a coolant flush done with a machine such as BG or Motorvac... just drain your radiator out by unscrewing the drain plug on the bottom of your radiator (passenger side) and fill it back up with a 50/50 mixture of green antifreeze and distilled water. Leave the radiator cap off and start the car.. let the radiator burp for a while to get the air out... there is also a bleeder valve you can open on top of the thermostat housing. Then seal it back up once it stops bubbling.

As far as your transmission goes, just take it to honda and let them do it. That way you won't screw it up.

As far as an interval, I would change the fluid every 30,000 miles or when it discolors.

2) the drain plug should be relatively easy to open, if you planning to use a breaker bar, don't. your aluminum block will hate you for that.
spray some wd40 ten min before you starting to wrench it open, it's tight but not breaker bar cranking tight

don't use the radiator menthod, there's air bleed valve

Do Not adjust the throttle cables tight, there is supposed to be a little slack.
To clean the throttle plate;remove the snorkle tube and hold the throttle open, spray with carb cleaner and scrub with a SOFT bristle brush.
