Cheap superchargers, Do they work? are they worth it?
Does anyone have real dyno stats? They advertise btween 35-50 hp gains for 70-100 bucks. I have the f22b1 (SOHC VTEC). Has this damaged anyones engine? How affective would you rate these products (negative responses tell what you have now and the approx cost) I am trying to stay away from turbo and nos cause I don't want to damage the engine. I can see it now... detonation an 15 psi. plus I don't want anymore maint. (Have enough of that)also not trying to sink too much more into a car that old (90 accord). Also note I have a mugen chip for the ecu. How does that affect supercharger? Hopefully they work together well... So what do yall think? Go or NoGo?
If you're talking about the electric things you might as well hook a hairdrier to your intake. Somone posts this every week. And as far as your performance chip post up a picture or a link to it. Most of the "performance chips" for hondas are a E-bay ripoff.
I got the chip off e-bay for $40 by mugen
Chip says it changes fuel/air curve, removes speed limiter, and engages vtec earlier(3500 rpm) I haven't had it installed yet because I am dealing with CEL codes 13, 14. replaced IACV. Someone said I might have a bad ecu (baro) Got that off ebay too. ebay sucks???

I think mugen made a commercial chip once. ONCE. All other times they make engines they do so with Honda factory race cars, etc. You didn't get a mugen chip, I doubt it does anything, or at best its a resistor.
The lesson you're learning is good and cheap arent in the same sentence....figure out what you want and spend the good money on it instead of trying to cut corners. Trying to be fast and cheap means halfassed work with parts that do little to nothing and eventually fail.
And VTEC at 3500, if it was actually done, would mean the death of your engine.

A Mugen oil filter costs $27.. i don't think you would be able to buy a Mugen chip for that price given that it even exists..

Do they work? Probably not.. cheap and power don't mix..
People who run Intake/Exhaust/Header setups.. get maybe 10-20whp max if your lucky... and thats after spending $1500+ on a decent setup..
If you want cheap power... either turbo or nos... and that doesn't come cheap either.. On stock internals... i wouldn't recommend it.. Just save your money

About 3 weeks ago. haven't worked out all the bugs yet throws codes 13,14. Someone told me it may be a bad ecu because I checked all wiring and the code 13 is the BARO which is internal in ECU. I also changed my IACV to no avail. So I have a CEL
and stay in safe mode. Anyone else had a 13? tired of engine revving at low rpm.
