Ground Control Top hat on other springs?
Hey guys
I would like to get these to increase the ride quality and shock life, but I am running some Eibach Pro Kit Springs on Koni Yellows
I was wondering if anyone was running this product on suspention other then the GC coilovers?
TIA

so... would you say that they would work on any springs with a 2.5" inner diameter?

The GC upper mounts locate the springs via the inside diameter. Your OEM upper mounts locate the spring on the outer diameter. As long as the inner diameter of your spring matches that of a GC spring (2.5"), then it should fit perfectly...
In addition to the 2.5 ID, the GC upper mounts are made for a flat ground spring tail and not an open and stepped tail. I would make sure that the spring you use will sit squarely on a flat surface.
Yep, any spring that matches the hat diam. will work. FYI, if you want to play with spring rates to fine-tune your handling, some decent places to buy them are those NASCAR-type shops, or summit racing, might be cheaper than other places (Although off the top of my head, I can't confirm that they carry 2.5" I.D.'s.
fwiw, i used my eibach sportlines with the gc upper strut mounts. nothing captures the spring to perfectly center it but taking care during assembly got it close enough. worked fine.

the tops of the stock springs and aftermarket lowering springs should all be a flat ground spring tail on the top. tapered at the bottom.

I think the stock crx rears were not ground flat, although it's been a while since I've actually pulled them off the shelf to look. The lower part of all crx springs are stepped.
