Default Random Misfire on a D16Y7

Hi guys, I have a random misfire. I replaced the wires/cap/rotor. I am getting a CEL but I'm too cheap and have no way of checking what the code is (unless you guys have a different way). The car puts of a "put...put...put...Vrooom" below 1g and does fine after about 1.3g's. What should I look at and what needs to be fixed? Thanks!

replace spark plugs and check the gap.replace fuel filter-basically replace any tune up parts that are past their service intervals.
are your injectors dirty?
i'm assuming the motor is in good mechanical condition(good compression, etc)?
set your ignition timing to stock.
a search will tell you how to check your codes.

i had the same problem on my turbo civic.. turned out to be my injectors..but if your car is almost stock i would keep looking into the ignition system.. distributors like to go out on our cars..

good luck, misfires suck..
