NSX Calipers on 5 lug Prelude
Alright dudes heres a new one on me. I have a customer that says he has been told that he could put a set of NSX front calipers on the front of his 5 lug Prelude. I have never heard this one and I would like to hear from someone who Knows. Enlighten me.
Actually it's a pretty old one. Common swap AFAIK that i've seen done at least as early as 98-99 when I had my Prelude SH, for sure it's been done even before that.

2 piston calipers from the Legend GS's of certain years also fit on preludes.
though, i believe one of them (either legend of NSX) has to be mounted upside down, which isn't a good thing because of the trailing/leading edge diff b/w the 2 brake systems.

The Acura Legend GS calipers work on the 5th gen Prelude. However, you need to take into account that for those to work correctly the bleeder valve must be installed upside down. Thus it makes bleeding a pain. I think you can just flip up the caliper, throw a block of wood inside prop it up somehow and bleed it that way. But if that's not the case then you need to remove the caliper off the mount angle it right w/ the block of wood in the center and then bleed making sure you put no tension on the line... but anyway, the NSX setup is the "ideal" setup but the pistons are slightly smaller than the Legend GS, but it has the heat veins and you can bleed as you normally would.

The NSX calipers are also lighter.

I've seen several Type R's at the track with the NSX calipers too. Since they use Prelude brakes and hubs, it makes sense they would fit the 'lude too.
