Default NEED HELP WITH OLD CAR

hey guys, i know this is not a honda car but i know you guys out there know more about other cars also besides honda. but i have a 86 toyota cressida. stock everything, i was wondering does anyone know what type of fuel should i pump. when i pump 87, after a while it makes a rusty noise, then when i pump 91 it quiets down. a lot of people told me to pump 87 because its an old car why waste money. oh another question does old coolent effect how cold AC gets? thanks.

I belive the Toyota Cressida required 87 octane. Using a higher octane can actually decrease your power. On the AC, In my car when the coolant was real low or old it never affected my AC Cool down rates, but Its good to keep it up to its recomended level.

What do you mean rusty sound? If it is knocking/pinging, then using a higher octane fuel can help to bandage the problem. On an old car, it could be the timing is too far advanced, or too much carbon deposits built up can also cause the noise. I would get a tune up and run a few tanks of fuel with fuel system cleaner.

just so you know, in your name... the VTEC engine in the Accord EX is the F22b1, not the F22b2. The F22b2 is the Non-VTEC engine in the DX/LX/SE.

Assuming you are speaking of engine coolant not freon, yes it can. If the coolant is old and muddy, the car is going to run hotter than normal and the AC is not going to get as cold.
