I just got done putting my motor and tranny all back into my car and i went to start it.....strarted up fine and then i went to drive it but the car will not go into gear. I bled the clutch a good 10 times or more, the slave is working good the fork moves but the clutch is not engauging. While the car is running with the clutch in it will not go into gear...i know the cluch is not engauged. Its like trying to put in into gear with the clutch out, doesnt work. Before i take my tranny off anyone have any advise? Thanks

 

maybe the throwout bearing isnt on right, oil in the tranny needs to move around a little bit. do you have pressure on the clutch?

i think its the throw out my self also....oil is in the tranny, and there is a good pedal thats what i dont really get....but i guess the tranny is just gona have to come off

 

I had it happen after I did my swap. Somehow the clutch bolts came loose. Wish I had used loctite. I had to drop the tranny to find my problem.

 

guess u have to do more work.

 

well b4 u take off tranny pull the boot off a bit and get a flashlight and look in there, see if everything looks right. u said u put a new clutch in, correct?

 

i took the boot off and looked in there and everything seems good.....im did a bunch of stuff to it and then went to start the car and now i gota go get a battery oh well ill let ya know what happens

 

did you put the friction disk in upside down?

 

thats what i thought at first also...but i took all my stock stuff and put it together outside the car, and the pp will not go onto the flywheel with disc the wrong way and i call ACT and they said that its the same thing it will not bolt up. but thanks for the looks.....

 

yes it will...ask me how I know. Embarassing as it is I will admit it. It was probably about the hundredth clutch job I did when this happened too, just got in a hurry. A better question to ask would be does the tranny shift normally when the car is not running. How does the clutch pedal feel?

 

i think you need to adjust the peddle height
ps when the car is off you can put it into gear without a problem??
if you put it in gear and then start the car what happens??(be care full do this with nothing infront of you if car starts to move press on clutch pedel)
what if you start the car and push the pedel down half way and then try to put it in gear?
just somethings you could try

If i have the clutch pedal in with the car on, it doesnt go into gear but the car seems to want to go foward....and then i go to put it into gear with the car off it goes no goes in no problem......i just wana drive my car lol
