Default S2s3 valvetrain question

16 type r outer valve springs, 16 portflow stiffened inner valve springs, and 16 omni titanium retainers.

Will they be strong enough to hold some sKunk stage 3s?

Im not sure about the valve springs. omni retainers and portflow springs should hod up fine though.

Make sure you tune!

I would say it depends on what you plan on revvin that too. If you're going past 8,500, which I hope you are to realize the potential of those camshafts, I would drop the itr/portflows and do Rm gen 1's. The gen 2's would work also, but with a camshaft that has 12.8 lift you want the stiffest you can get. The RM valvetrain is the best that money can buy IMO.

skunk2 stage 3's have alot of lift and duration so i would say do not use that combination get some good springs... spend the money right the first time in this area.. broken valve would destroy your engine so you want to have the correct parts..

my opinion is if you are running anything bigger than say crower stage 2's dont use the oem out spring and portflow inner. this combination works great for ctr cams and slightly larger cams.

skunk2 stage 3's are one of the bigger cams on the market.

Actually, they have very little duration......just allot of lift. And compared to some of the camshafts that are available now, they are fairly small compared to a BC5 or RM M24E.......

skunk2 stage 3's at 050 i get 260 duration intake ex. 269
rocket m24e i at 050 i get 258 duration intake ex. 258
buddy club 4's at 050 i get 257 duration intake ex. 259

i have not seen the buddy club 5's yet. but seems like you have. what do you get at 050 on the bc5's??

there is nothing wrong with portflow springs.. he is asking about using oem outer and portflow inner which is not a good idea. if you get the portflow inner and outer it should be fine.

isnt it funny when someone trys to correct you on something they have no idea about........
