Scratched bumper on a 1997 Accord.
O.k. so today when I parked my car on a relatively flat surface in the parking garage, I failed to set the emergency brake, which I always do but didn't this time, in a hurry I guess. Also I always put it in gear since it's a standard. Well, from what I can tell, the car popped out of gear and rolled back and hit this guy I work with truck. Now the most damage was to my car and that damage was the drivers side rear bumper had some of the plastic surface scraped off. The transmission is fine no doubt, but I guess I didn't put it in gear all the way and I've had that happen before when I'm behind the wheel.
Now there are some scratches I can compound out of there with no problem, but my biggest problem is a couple of small gouges into the bumper. Is there some kind of filler I can smear on and smooth out, then repaint over with the factory touch up, or am I pretty much relegated to getting the whole bumper repainted, or possibly replaced?
p.s. Please don't flame the **** out of me on this issue. I already feel retarded enough as it is... Also, I didn't know if this should have gone in the cosmetic thread or not. It didn't seem that way due to the topics being discussed.

uhh there is this type of puttty that i used for door dings wen i was helping a buddy prep his car for paint ..not too sure what is called again ill try and find out for you. Got any pics? see how bad they are?
if the "gouges" are deep enough to need body filler, it will look terrible if you just try to use touch-up paint. best way is to leave it until you have the time and/or money to get the whole thing repainted.

Normally I thing that way, but **** him and his childish antics. The only time he is even close to tolerable is when he is in need of information, then he becomes pathetic. Otherwise he is a foul mouthed insult laden ***** that tries to be funny by posting derogatory comments and calling it “dark humor”.
