I don't know how to drive my car
Just went and GTECH'ed my car. Didn't have enough room on the backroads to do the 1/4 so I just went to 60 mph. The best time it ran was a 7.0 Now I know that the gtech isn't 100% accurate but it's usually within a tenth. My friend's '99gsx ran a 6.3 with just intercooler pipes. Also my v-6 camaro ran a 6.34. I know I can do a search under launching (and I have, there are so many recomendations) but this just doesn't make sense. The car just has an aem intake and some new dunlop tires. I tried launching at 2.5k, 3.5k, and 5.0k. Feathered the cluth on each launch and got 7.54 sec, 7.32, and 7.00 respectively. This is my first manual car and I've only had it since late December, but my friend with the gsx (manual) got nearly the same times. Any suggestions? I'm not really asking for ways to launch the car, just some suggestion/recomendations on what's going on. Thanks guys.
Hmm....I just heard a bunch of people taking it to the strip and it being within .1 sec, but maybe not. Ok, well I don't feel quite as bad, but it the thing was f'ed up, it would seem like the other car's reading would be off too.
Some G-Techs are just messed up.. we rented one once and that thing was pretty good and accurate.... my friend's Accord ran a 15.7 up in Sacramento Raceway and when timed with the G-Tech.. it was around the same time... 15.7-15.8... and then when we finally bought one.. that one was jacked up... it was reading one of my friend's stock Accords to be running low 13s.... that thing was messed up... when I ran it with my GS-R... saying that I wapoo pooing 15.1 consistantly... and then my cousin's NOS-driven Civic coupe w/ LS motor which hits 13s was only doing 15.7s.... now you know that thing was off.. so we just went back and exchanged it.. so don't believe everything you see... the G-Tech is more accurate in the way that it doesn't read in your reaction time and what not, but some of them are just messed up... remember it's only a cheap gadget.. it's not accurate all the time...

True Story : Mustang GT at school with mods was going like 15.5 He started talking poo poo to me and goes go GTECh your car nd we'll run at the track tongiht for money. He wasn't sure what my car was gonna do with the R pistons so i did it. The car was really low and had very limited suspension movement. I went like 15.7 at the track so we put 100 bucks on the race that night .
Get to the track fit pass out went 14.8, folled it with a 14.4 without changing anything, needless to say the mustang went home that night empty pockets thanks to his 150 GtECH

hey matt, this is parker, i got to school with your sister, last year we were pretty good friends........ i've seen you around lately in the ITR, very nice. If you want, on Saturday, theyre having a test and tune at Ennis, you should bring the integra...i've got some nissan buddies of mine comin out, theyre cool guys, but if you want a truly accurate measure of performance, bring it out........ i think its like $20 to run your car, I'll be there in my sleeper sentra
At first I thought that too. Someone said that it could be my cv joints, so I'm just gonna run it by Acura and see what they say.
