Zc head on a 1.6 ????
ok guys im pickin up a 1.6 for my crx, im just getting the lower half of the motor and for now im gonna find a y8 or y7 head for good compression, but down the road im pickin up a full zc motor, would it be better to ****** the head off and put it on the 1.6 block and build the zzc bottom end in the meantime or would it be better to leave the y8 or y7 head on and build the zc as a whole. alot of compression is good for me as im going to leave this thing all motor for a while but down the road i may go for supercharger if its still SOHC or one large turbo if its DOHC, lemme know, i appreciate the help.
Just build the 1.6 with the y8 or y7 head for all motor. that **** will run super strong. If you do the right things to it, you wont want to boost. if you want to boost anything dont, just spend the money you saved from not buying a turbo and pick up a B series, or build the **** outta the single cam. I raced a "built" dual ZC in a crx with my STOCK 1.5 sohc with a 1.6 a6 head in my crx and he only got the launch on me..thats it. so your 1.6 with a y7 or 8 head would rip some new *** holes!
oh ****, and if you put the y8 or y7 head on the a6 block, DONT FORGET TO REMOVE THE OIL SQUIRTER JET ON THE A6 BLOCK! the y7 and y8 head has one built in. if you dont remove the jet, your VTEC will not work! just in case you didnt already know
