Default dsm + evo = headache?

I have a freind that has a DSM 2 and he can get a hold of a evo 4 AWD front clip. he was wondering if its a bolt on affair. anyone know? i tried looking around on the internet, but this is the best web site that i know of for info on stuff like this, anyone know a web site for DSMs?

im pretty sure then engine is basically the same as the eclipse (4g63). the diff's are probably better, but im not really sure. sorry i cant help more.

i know the evo 8 motor is just a beefed up 4G63 motor.

omg guys hate to crush your dreams but the engine from 4 onwards is mounted the other way round (the right way as most people put it) so im afraid it won't work - you would need an evo 1-3 motor which would be pointless.

interesting...i dont know **** about mitsu. i think the motor is the same he just wants to know if the AWD will bolt on to his FWD. and will the rear diff bolt up?

no it wont bolt up, alot of fabrication is needed.... hope your friend has $.

It will be expensive to do that. I have heard of some guys who got it done at a friends shop and I'm pretty sure they paid no less then $4,000. Better off just starting with the AWD platform.
