Default How much power did you gain by dyno tuning...?

Just wondering what numbers you guys baseline and then end up with after a few hours of dyno tuning.

I'm taking my Ls/Vtec to get dyno'd and was wondering how much gain some people have seen!

only 6whp, but21 lbs of torque!!!!

My vtec point was all wack since changing out the gsr cams and swapping out the gsr intake manifold. But I gotta say, that the most important part of the tune for my car was getting the engine to run safe, since I was running way lean on my basemap.

Today... Mostly stock JDM B16 w/ header, intake, stock exhaust and stock cat. Made +3whp peak and about 8-10whp in the 4500rpm -6500rpm range and also gained 10 ftlbs starting at 2000rpm and going back to 0 ftlbs increase at about 3800rpm. Tuned w/ CROME.

And rember this was mostly stock. When you end up running a stock ECU and/or some 1/2 assed chipped ecu on evan a mildly built motor you most likely will see some nice gains as well as having a more fuel effecient and reliable motor.

B16- Peak hp moved 12 up. 2 hrs in dyno. Adjustments made thru VAFC and cam timing.

I have seen over 20 whp gain in various parts of the rpm band, other times as little as 10 whp. The drivability of the car is usually much better after tuning too.

Enough power to say that the money spent was well worth it.

People at the place where it's dyno'd do it for you correct? Or do you have to tune it yourself?

OR you go to Honda Tuning forums and learn how to do it yourself and save yourself a bunch of moeny that can go towards tires/track time. Then when you upgrade parts you don't have to retune at $200/hr + dyno fees.

Good point pirate. But...

Sometimes a profesional is just better. Even tuners will call on other tuners who have more experience with something rather than be stubborn and try it themselves. Some people have a gift and that gift can be worth paying for.
