I'm getting ready to join team flat black, but i'm wondering what people used. How well does it come out using rattle cans? I thought about using a electric gun like a wagner power painter. Has anyone tried that? I dont have a compressor nore a way to transport it if i rent one, thats why i'm asking.

 

i just used 5 cans of duplicolor primer for base, then 5 cans of krylon ultra flat black.

+ive actually never posted pics of my car on H-T or g2ic, but i will before the week is up. good luck.

SPRAY CAN OR GUN? People seem to miss the point, even on the archived threads. the color is not the point. THe point is what you used. A rattle can or a pnumatic or electric spray gun

 

use a gun and dont do flat, use satin... looks much better.

Rustoleum "Flat Black", thinned out with paint thinner. Sprayed with my $12 spray gun.

Note, this is nearly a year after I painted it, so it might look a little "off"

good luck....i had fun doing this project....planning on adding a teg center console this weekend....

 

i found an electric gun from harbor frieght tools for about 20 bucks. I think i'm gonna try it since i dont have a compresser. Hope it works. Anyone have any experience with these. Its like that wagner power painter on tv.
