How? 4 Point Seat Belt Harness Install?
...this will get interesting.
Basically, there IS not right way without a roll cage. I know, I know...not the answer you want to hear but thats the way it is.
If you AREN'T going to take my advice and do it anyway, I have seen people mount them to the floor, to c-pillar bars, and to strut tower bars. I'm not suggesting you do that, but it could be done.

WOW!!! don't follow this advice. he has no idea what he's talking about. if you get in a crash with the harnesses at a 90* angle, your neck will separated from your spine and you will be paralyzed or die. they must make no steeper than a 45* angle. someone knowledgable chime in if i'm mistaken. you should really get a roll bar though. if the car flips you'll be crushed by the roof. do it safely or don't do it at all.

I'm not sure, but what i think he meant by 90 degrees is taht the harness mounts are horizontal to your shoulders. the problem comes if they are lower than your shoulders, it'll push your back down and compress your spine if you're in an accident. so therefore the only place to mount them is on a harness bar or cage.
also, with harnesses, you can't slide to the side and crunch down if you flip, so your pretty much fucked. thats why you want a cage, if you roll it the roof won't crush in.

I think the majority of the danger comes from being in a roll-over type accident. I can't forsee being in a collision to terribly detrimental.
p.s. no matter what, i promise your spine will not seperate from your neck; this coming from a medical professional.

your spine won't separate from your neck, but you may end up with herniated discs and scoliosis, believe me i know. it wasn't from harnesses, but still, something similar.
plus it depends on the seats you have. if you have high quality sturdy racing seats, and route the harnesses through the holes, you'll probably be fine, but if you have for example dx seats and mount the harnesses to the floor, nothings keeping them in place above your shoulders.
