Default what are the symptoms of a turbo about to give out

just wondering what are the signs of a turbo about to go bad. Some people tell me that it will blow a lot of smoke. if so, where from? will i feel a loss of power? will it sputter like a misfire?

no, a bad turbo wouldnt cause misfiring. Sputtering or misfiring could be alot of different things. A bad turbo would cause blue smoke out the exhaust, and alot of oil to burn up. how does your car idle?

it idles normal. it sounded like a misfire, but i checked everything i could think of. cap, rotor, plugs, wires, fuel filter, even the whole distributor. it only does this occasionally. what else could it be making a funny sputtering sound if its not a misfire?

you should post more specific info, when does it misfire, what rpm, does it misfire when in boost? these things are crucial to know to help diagnose the problem.

its really weird. sometimes it will do it when i take off. sometimes when i'm just coasting. Hardly ever when im boosting, just every once in a while. its sequential sounding. like mmmmmmmdrdrdrdrddrdrdrmmmdrdrmmmmdrdrdr.
i feel stupid, but thats the best i could do.

sounds like a similar problem i had with my car. one of the connections to my injectors was loose, causing it to sputter and bog randomly, especially right from a stop, when i begin rolling. So if you have inline resistors, or a resistor box, check the connections, Plus i was getting a check engine light for the fuel injectors so even my ecu helped me figure it out.

i have no codes. am i not getting any codes because i have my ecu chipped with uberdata? i dont think its the wiring for the fuel injectors. the injectors are 450cc plug n play correct inject from tunertoys. they require no resistors.

incorrect plug gap, boost blowing the gap out. Once my car starts to studder, miss under boost loads, or sound like popcorn out the exhaust i know the plugs are gone.. I change em alot due to this problem. You cant use the stock gap for boost, gotta go tighter 28-34.
