Default Summer Project Choices? Need Help

Right now I have a JDM GSR w/ Kaaz LSD and I/H/C/E. The motor has a small oil leak coming from around the head area and is dripping down the block. I replaced the cam seal so I'm sure its not that. My motor also burns oil in VTEC... smokes ALOT. Now that I've given you some background on my setup, I can continue. I'm looking for more power and I have two options that should cost around the same. If anybody has any advice I'd love to hear it.

Option #1: Build a B20 block at a leisurly pace and put the head and transmission from my current motor on it when I finished. I would get forged pistons (about 12:1 compression) and rods and ARP bolts only, no sleeves. This would hopefully rid me of the oil and smoking problem, give me some more torque and horsepower and I'd learn a ton in the process.

Option #2: Just deal with my oil leak and oil burning and uprgrade the head with valvesprings, retainers and something like a Skunk2 Stage2 cam, then chip the ECU accordingly. It would be a nice boost in power, but I wouldnt have the satisfaction of building a block. Then again I wouldnt have to worry about messing up the build.(My first time)

Any advice is welcome

I say you go option #1, a b20 block would be really nice, you defenently would learn alot and gain good power

Im planning on doing the same thing this summer, going to build an LSv , Ive got a pretty mild b16 setup right now but looking to gain some torque and knowledge

it will also be my first major work

I'm leaning towards the headwork now because of the ease but then again it wouldnt be a summer project(more like a weekend). I'd like to build the block but its MUCH more involved and I dont know if I could handle it with just a Helms, Honda-Tech and a few freinds. Any other advice?
