Default Good deal for a B18C?

I know some guy who's said he'll sell me a B18C Jspec ITR motor for $500 with an even swap for my B18C5. I know he's not lying to me, because he already hooked up on of my friends with one for $5,500. I'm just looking for everybodies opinion, is it worth trading in my motor with only 20k miles on there for a JDM motor? He said he's gurantee that the JDM motor will be a Grade A motor, meaning there will be around 20-25k miles on there. Would you guys do it?

I wouldn't. Your current motor has been with you and you know what has been done to it.

That's exactly what one of my friends told me. He said that I don't know what that JDM motor is coming from.

Why would he want a USDM R motor instead of a JDM R motor?

I was about to ask the same question.

Why would he want a USDM R motor instead of a JDM R motor?

I dont think the gains you'll receive will be worth the time and money. I wouldn't do it.

all that work for minimal gain in power whatever small power gains the JDM motor makes over the US one? hell no.

Uhm,

I thought the JDM runs higher compression. We in Europe have the JDM engines becauser our fuel is 98-99oct.
Your from Chicago... Which fuel do you run ?

He's not lying to me. I know him very well, we've been friends for a while now. He has a hook up in Japan, and he asked me if I wanted to do it. I told him I would think about it. He said he'll also do the drop for me as well, for an extra 3 bills.

don't do it, you never know if the last owner of the JDM motor have beaten on the motor or not, if you want to get the 11:1 compression, jus mill your head a little or get a spoon head gasket.

I wouldn't. Just get JDM ITR pistons and a JDM FD. A little more expensive but worth it. Then you'll have all the benfits without the hassle.

I decided not to do it. I'm going to invest my money in a set of Mugen head gasket, and maybe the CTR exhaust cam. My boy who's also trying to sell me the motor, can hook me up with both those items for very cheap.
