this is a wtb thread, but i thought i might have some better luck here and find someone that needs to get some crap out of their garage. do what you need to do vap.
after punching a rod through the block girdle, my buddy needs a complete d16z6 bottom end. looking for something complete and still assembled so we can put his head on it and go. other ideas are welcomed (complete motors, whatever), and cheap is good.
lemmeno what you got.

i have a bare z6 block, and a semi-complete head, its port n polished, needs to bo torqued to spec and needs a dizzy. ill letm go for dirt cheap. 300.00 for both......also the head was milled .05mm for a hi-comp build up i was gonna do...i ended up getn a b16...
The ZC SOHC block is the same as a D16Z6, I've just fitted the head from a D to a ZC block for the same reasons as yourself (and she ran for the first time about half an hour ago
).
The only problem I found was a slightly different angle on the l/h engine mount (may have to use the doner mount and bracket). After that I just fitted the blanker plug for the coolant temp. sensor and fitted the thermostat housing and pipe over from the D because the temp. sensor is on the 'stat housing. Also there's a valve in the oil gallery on the ZC motor going to the head which you remove, it just slips out. Other than that it's just the usual few brackets.
Hope this is of some help.

correct me if i'm wrong, i could very well be, but the sohc vtec motors do not have the oil squirters in the block, they have a similar regulator in the head. but it needs more oil for vtec to engage than will fit through the squirter, so therefore its in the head where it can be controlled.
