H22 skunk2 stage 2/3 cam ???
i have been talking to a couple of people and they have told me that in order to run the skunk2 stage2/3 camshafts in the JDM H22 you must have 11:1 compression or higher if not when vtec engages it will fall on its face, it this true?? right now i currently have 10.6:1 compression so i wouldnt think that .4 compression would be that different. any help would be appreciated.

I've seen a few that do. Seems to work okay. Of course they would net better power w/ higher compression.

so i can run the stage 2/3 cams on the stock 10.6:1 JDM H22 and have no problems? the reason i ask is because a friend has a b16(stock) and he put skunk2 stage 2 cams and when vtec engaged it would just fall flat on its face, engine lost all power. skunk2 told him that he has to run 11:1 compression in order for it to work.
we ran skunk2 stage 2 (stage 3 now i guess) h22 cams in a stock block race motor last year and i made good power. we had about a 10.8:1 compression ratio and the motor ran great. i would suggest getting some dyno sessions in to get the most power out of the cams though. hope this helps.

Don't forget the upgraded valve springs. Retainers are recommended too!
