Default Has anyone tried the Dunlop Sport A2

Dunlop has discontinued the D 60 A2 and appearently this is its replacement. I was just wondering if any of you have tried the new ones yet and how they might compare to the old ones. It is hard to find a good tire with my 14' rims

Well, I once had D60 A2s and they were the noisiest ****'s I've ever encountered. Freaking horrible tires, as they did nothing well. Noisy, not all that cheap, didn't grip well............I've ran kumhos ever since, and for what I do (spirited street driving, no racing) they are exceptional.

I bet that they don't make the kumhos for 14' wheels though.

Interesting...I thought they gripped well. Then again, I don't have a lot of tire experience. Let's just say they're the best tires I've ever had.

The D60s do suck horrendously in the snow...my 'Teggy is getting repaired right now partially because of those tires.

What model Kumhos are you using? Are they that much more quiet, grippy, etc? What's the treadwear like?

Im using the ecsta supra 712, which IMHO grips better than the dunlops, are a lot cheaper at $65 a pop, and is exceptionally quiet. They also have a very high treadwear rating. I think for the money they can't be beat. They are however, less than desireable in snow. I had them on an Impreza 2.5 RS and it was probably as bad or worse than the Integra w/ dunlops in the snow.

Kewl, thanks for the info. I'm getting snow tires for the beasty anyway. When I need new summer tire I'll look into the 712s.

hell i used to sell those tires. i dont know where that guy bought his but he must have gotten bent over, cause where i worked, they were cheap as hell. as far as blaming the tires, sounds more like a drivers fault to me. try finding another tire with A treadwear and AA traction with mileage warranty for the same price. it wont b done. everyone i sold them to commented on how much they liked them. thats just the facts.

Drivers fault..............thats pretty funny, being that I rotated them and kept them properly inflated. poo poo, those tires never even saw anything near hard street use, and I still had to have them replaced at like 12,000 miles. It was almost like the compound of the tire got a lot harder over time, due to the fact that they were not noisy initially. The kumhos are better, just the facts. My only qualm about them is that they are made on korea, but I guess I can live with that for the value they present.

I recently bought a set of these in 205/50/15. I find these to be excellent tires....not noisy at all and great wet and dry handling. You might want to go to tirerack.com and check out the user ratings of various tires and see for yourself.

Well, I just got my Falken AZENIS that I paid $62 a piece for from www.vulcantire.com and I love them. They have hella grip and handle very well. I still haven't been able to test them in the rain, but I will post when I see how they handle. But I am getting a set for my Lude now!
