Problem with 38mm Tial Wastegate
I installed my turbo kit a few weeks ago on my 2000 gs-r. Ever since i installed it i have had a problem with the car bogging down alot. My boost gauge stays at about 10in hg in vacumm and won't drop any lower, so i figured i had a vacumm leak. After checking all of the lines and not finding a leak i bought a vacumm box and installed it last night. I hooked up everything except the bov and wastegate and the car ran great. As soon as i hooked up the wastegate and bov is started running shitty again. So i disconnected the wastegate and it ran fine so i know the issue is with the wastegate. I have the vacumm line connected to the nozzle in the middle of the wastegate and the top hole is open ( i don't have a ebc). When i put my finger over the top hole of the wastegate it's drawing air in. With my finger over the hole the car will run fine. I thought the top hole should be left open unless you are using an ebc. Do i have a bad wastegate?

sounds like you might have a tear in the diaphram, the chamber is supposed to be sealed, that is most likely what is causing your problems
