HID bulbs for ITR (D2S vs. D2R)
why do you need the d2s bulbs over the d2r
a friend has the d2r bulbs in his and they look and work fine his his type r, only thing is he had to epoxy them in, so what the difference

but they still will work right, does it just affect the light pattern or something
the only thing i noticed is the d2r my friend has have a bluish glow and i know the d2s bulbs give the bright white appearance

No, but for a projector setup, you should really be using a D2S. When you do get the D2S bulbs, compare them to the D2R, the beam pattern will be significantly improved with the proper bulbs.
I have D2R bulbs in my 2000 Teg and I can't tell the difference between the two. People make say they make a big difference but I can't tell. I love the look of my HIDs and I don't think I can go back to halogen bulbs. If you get the chance to get HIDs, BUY THEM. Its worth the money. Its a big difference.

the d2s will be brighter than the d2r according to lumen output by a count of about 300. That silly shield on the d2r bulb is used to eliminate glare in reflector type housings.
Don't JDM HID Headlights come with HID? But ive heard of people putting bulbs on the JDM HID's...WHat is the difference between that and normal JDM headlights with lets say..a Philips HID kit..please let me know. thanks.

I used to have D2R and there are two shadow spot clearly, and even all of my friends noticed that, it's very weird.. and the beam tend to have more light on the driver side then the passenger side. After I changed to a D2S, the beam output perfect without any shadows or black spots... Too bad I got rid of my D2R bulbs, otherwise I can take some pics and show you guys.
i have D2R in my 98 projectors. i must say, my beam pattern is horrible. its low and short. i cant see $#!+ unless i have my high beams on. it only lights up a small area in front of the car. when im sitting inside the car, i cant even see the 'lit area'. my friend with blue bulbs has better light output than me
the HIDs came with the car. i'd throw the stocks back on but it doesnt look like the headlamps would be able to accomodate the stock bulbs anymore.
heres a couple of pics. is there something that i need to do to make better use of my lights?

i was thinking of this too...somehow removing the shield. has anyone succesfully sanded away the shield? selling is not an option for me right now. if i do succesfully get rid of the shield, how would i mount the bubls to the headlamps? right now mine is rigged in there with tape. ultra ghetto.
