problems with vtec

Default problems with vtec

this may sound kind of funny but if i dont change my oil every 3000 miles my vtec sputters in and out and my engine light comes on after i change it its right back to normal and in a coupple of days the light goes off i put the car on the computer at my buddys shop and it came up as main vtec on the screen do you think that means i need a new vtec solenoid please help

If the oil level isn't low at all, it's possible that the screen on the VTEC solenoid is dirty & when the oil is dirty, which causes it to thicken some, there may be a flow imedance due to teh screen. Just a thought...

Yes. B-12 works wonders. You'll need to remove the VTEC solenoid to get to it...
