hi everyone, i dont think i have been on here for over a year since i sold my eg/c6.
i have missed that car ever since i sold it. (even though i've had a sr20det gtir engined pulsar in the meantime)
I bought a '94 eh2 1.5 lsi 3dr as a beater, but every time i drive it i cant help but feel i need a bit of vtec kick.
I have a b16a2 complete head and pistons in my garage from my last civic, and i managed to get a b18c4 off ebay for £455 ($800ish).
The lad who bought my last civic off me had his cambelt tensioner come loose so the head is damaged and also quite a few of the valves are destroyed. i have bought the destroyed head, and ITR tranny, flywheel, cams, header, intake mani, tb, valve springs.
so i was thinking, b18c4(167hp) bottom end with b18c6(187hp) or b16a2(158hp) pistons, b16a2 head with ITR cams and valve springs, ITR intake and tb, ITR header, ITR flywheel, chipped p28 ecu, i also have a mongoose exhaust, and an ITG CAI, ITR tranny.
my questions are,
1) which pistons would be the best to use? the ITR pistons have no rods, the b16 ones do, i dont even know how to detatch the piston from the rod, or if b18 and b16 rods are the same size. how much difference would changing the pistons make? i was just thinking i could do it while the head is off.
2) would the b18c4 timing belt work(looks brand new) or will i need an ITR one?
3) does my idea sound like a sensible plan?
4)i don't know of anyone in the UK who is meant to be good at porting/polishing cylinder heads, but am thinking if i took someone the b16a2 head and the bad b18c6 head, they would be able to try to copy the ITR head by porting/polishing my b16a2 head. what are the main differences in the castings?
5) have i overlooked anything?
thanks to anyone who has took the time to read this long boring post and greater thanks to anyone who can help.
looking forward to that vtec grin

What kinda of car does a c4 come out of? Itr and b16 give about the same amount of compression so I dont think it would matter. B18 and B16 rods are different. If the bottom end is complete I would just keep it together and not take it apart. I would get a new belt just in case. Not something you want to take a chance on, might end up bending some valves later on. The casting on the b16 and itr head are the same. ITR have slight porting but I wouldnt bother.

The ITR head has a port, better valvetrain and cams... and the cool green paint under the dizzy.

b18c4 is out of a '98 UKDM civic 4dr or 5dr vti and is rated at 167bhp, so i think it is pretty much a USDM integra GSR motor. thanks for the replies.
when it comes to swapping the valvetrain, is it mainly the valve springs i need to change or all of it? i'm not sure but i think that most of the other parts are damaged. i know the valves themselves are.
thanks again
