TACH QUESTION (Dimmer/Light Control)
Can I use the Dimmer wire off my stereo harness to feed my tach for on/off lighting purposes.
or where is the best to pull for the DIMMER,
I searched w/ not much luck.
Thanks

you need a feed for the illumination? here's the easiest way... check the under the dash fuse box, locate the gauge cluster fuse, remove the fuse, wrap the wire around one end of the fuse terminal, put the fuse back in, and you're set... what it does is it would turn the light off and on for your tach when you turn the cluster light on and off as well through the headlight switch (they're connected- you turn the headlight switch on, the interior light such as the gauge cluster light turns on), you can dim it as well using the dimmer switch since its connected to the gauge cluster.
don't worry about how it is being ghetto, people do it all the time... but instead of just wrapping it around the fuse terminal, they used something called ''fuse taps''
I've done it with my tach
I can dim using the dimmer switch and turn it on or off whenever I want
Oh and by the way, what tach do you have? Some companies like defi only wants you to use a small "lamp/bulb" as a source of illumination
