fiberglass sunroof insert?
Thanks Todd, yah we have flush mounted plug kit with all the hardware, sealing included. Our product costs more than a piece of lexan or an unpainted fiberglass panel but it comes with everything you need in the kit and you don't need to go get it painted. The panel we offer is clear coat painted for UV protection. From a distance it just looks like a tinted piece of glass. This drops about 34 lbs from the car. UP HIGH. The other cool thing about cf is it will not expand and contract so it stays sealed, unlike lexan.
It comes with 17 of these custom bent and punched aluminum brackets, includes 1 extra

It comes with 17 of these as well.

They are made special for us. You are looking at 5/16" stainless steel (no rust)machine screws. They are coated black for us and allen head, counter sunk so the do not stick up above the carbon panel when installed. They are very small as to keep thm unobtrusive after install. The nuts are stainless steel Nylocks, again coated black. The best part is you can install the carbon panel and then back off the screw 1/2 turn so the panel does not dimple as it would if you used a rivet.
Also includes this:

This black silicon is good from -40 F - +400F and is chemical and UV resistant. We include a 6 page instruction booklet that shows you how to create a flush mounting seal with this. Basically tape off, smear in, and run over with the flat side of an ice cube and let sit overnight. When you return in the morning and pull the tape the seal is perfectly flat. Pretty simple trick but it works well. Also since we are using carbon fiber the coefficient of thermal expansion is about "0" so when the mid day sun hits it the seal doesn't get pulled apart. If you try this with lexan the seal will break pretty quickly, not to mention lexan sucks on a hot summer day at the track.
This is the best part:

This is a bracket locating tool that comes with each kit. This allows you to mount each bracket at the exact same altitude on the flange relative to the roofline. This means the panel perfectly follows the body line. Again very simple but keeps everything quick, easy, and accurate.
The carbon fiber panel is autoclave cured prepreg "dry" carbon so it's the best available. Maybe a little overkill but it works well.
I just thought I would bring up a few of the finer points about our product. Yes it costs about twice as much as an unpainted fiberglass panel but the fit and finish really shows.
Oh yes one more thing, our panel is glossy on both sides and you can re-install the headliner after install if this is a street car. Here's a shot of our Prelude model but the Civic looks pretty close to this, I just haven't uploaded any civic pics yet.
