Fuel pump location.
yes i know where the fuel pump actually is, yes i know you SHOULD drop the tank.
The question i have is has anyone ever cut the floor board out so you dont have to drop the tank? and will the lines let you pull the pump out?
i have the spot( I think) and i just wanted to see some pics of the work some one else has done so i can elaborate or copy. im lazy and dont wanna drop the tank.
oh and i have carpet so no i dont care to have a hole in the floor and know i will not leave it open i have an aluminium peice to cover it
PICS if you have them would be great.

Please,Just do the job right....
To get the pump assembly out would take a fairly large hole
which would weaken the structure of a car
that is not that strong to begin with...

If it's your first time working on the fuel pump you might wanna just drop the tank to make sure there is nothing beneath the cutting area. You dont wanna cut your hole and accidentally cut a fuel line or something.

what you could do is, after you take it out and you know where it is you can cut a hole for the next time and weld in a access door.
thats what i did on my formula, but i didnt drop the tank in the first place. on the f bodies its a common mod and exact measurements were posted on the internet on where to cut.
access doors make life a lot easier, not sure about the EFs but on the f bodies, you have to drop the rear axle, exhaust, and drive shaft just to drop the tank.

i looked at the tank out of the car and i would have to cut a huge square out and then cut a channel for the hard line to get the pump out it would look like ****!
i did it to a shell so i know what it would look like.

Thats a pretty serious thing to be messing around with man. I'd just break down and do it the regular way otherwise you may just be asking for more problems and more work than originally planned afterall.
