1st gen b16 Y1 tranny problem
my tranny grinds a bit in to 3rd and 4th gear...
where can i get the syhcronizer blocker ring? do 90-93teg tranny ones work? or whats the deal... should I try gm syncromesh see if that fixes the problem?

the yellow bottle penzoil syncromesh from autozone is the same formula and cheaper, easier to get, etc.
I also have a Y1 with lsd and i have a grind too. the fun part about our trannies is the rebuild kits come from dealerships in japan.
yey.
one of the engine importers in califorina could get you one, but after the shipping and the labor to install it you could have bought another tranny from the importer by that time, for less money.
gear speed is a place in cali that has sycros for jdm cable trannies, theres a thread on here, search for syncro (sp?) with archive content checked
its worth a shot to try the mesh fluid, if it works for you. couldnt hurt.
o btw, i also have to double clutch 5th at any rpm to keep it from grinding, as well as the usual high rpm 3rd gear thats very common.

Well Ill give that a shot I was under the impression that s1 usdm trannys have the same synchronizer blocker rings... considering people swap out the 5th from jdm y1 and **** and drop in 5th from ls... if it comes down to it and i pull the tranny i will let everyone know or if someone does let me know lolz...

If you are going to try syncromesh, go with the friction modified. I do not recommend the regular kind as it is not even comparable to the friction modified.

If the synchromesh doesn't help your situation, replacing your synchros may be your next best solution.
