something to think about: 15-20k isn't exactly something i'd want to spend on a 500 hp fwd accord...it'd be pretty much a useless car with that much power...
do you not know of any tuning shops in your area...if so, give them a call, tell them what you want, and have them build it for you...

Why in the hell would you spend that much money on a car that was never made for it?!? If you want a sports car buy a damn sports car. Waste of money IMO, and after all that you ain't even doing the work. I don't understand this mentality of paying someone to build your car, and I ain't just picking on you I see this all over the place.
But yeah man if you want a fast car buy a fast car, that's my 2 cents. Its cheaper to make a fast car faster than make a mediocre car semi-fast. Shoot if you want a honda get an S2000, that starts at 240hp. Pop some cams, intake and ECU, in there and you'd be sittin pretty. Handle better too!

someone is seriously going to rip you off if you have that much money to put into your car....you need to read up and figure out what you really want!!!! i will hook you up with turbo, all the internals and tune it for you if you want and only charge you $10,000!!!!
its not what you buy, its what you build.
any average joe can buy a fast car. but it takes a lot more to build something from nothing.
you want a video of a turbo accord KILLING a s2000? i can get it for you. I can also assure you the turbo accord has MUCH less money put into it.

You will NEVER get that money back... **** man do you realize if you sold that car plus this money you have, you could buy a brand new (i know they dont make em anymore... im refering to one with VERY low miles) LS1 powered trans-am or camaro, supercharge it... and still have money left over. **** if you sold your car for a lil over $10k you could but an 03' cobra! TRUE sports cars... i dunno man it seems like an awful lot to spend on a honda... but thats IMO... goodluck..
Just read your post above... my accord could take out an s2k... they really arent that quick.. very nice cars tho.

Hey man, I give you props about thinking to spend that kind of money on an accord, good choice on the car
. However, 300-400 on a daily FWD car isn't really practical, if you don't have some really sticky, low-profile tires then you'll be spinning through 1st, 2nd, and probably 3rd gear when you romp on it. My opinion would be to get a new RSX or something of that nature, if you want to go Honda/Acura, and save up for a turbo. That's just my opinion, if you want to stay with an older gen. Honda/Acura due to insurance or repairs or whatever, then I'd go with a GSR and build it up. If you really want to keep the Accord, I'd drop an H22a and get cams, I/H/E...then think about turboing. I don't really think that this guy wants a domestic car Intense, although these cars are fast right out of the box, they're a dime a dozen and I think this guy wants to be a little more unique, I'm not trying to critize these cars. These are all high 13 low 14 sec cars, so they are fast. The moral of the story is it's not worth spending 20k on an Accord. If you're into RWD get a newer 240 and put and sr20det in it, that'll be worth your wild. They handle like crazy...

Dude...buy a DSM and boost that bitch.
Or sell your car, buy a 2001 m3 and supercharge that thing. 333 stcok + boost gains.
Or buy a new corvette @ 400hp stock @ 3100lbs.
Soo many endless opportunities.

The guy wants a fast built Accord. Whats so wrong with that? You guys say it is pointless but what isnt? This hobby in itself is pointless if you want to be **** about it. You think a built corvette will soo much cooler? Uh..with that kinda money spend Id already opt for a real exotic car. Dont compare apples to oranges. If you cant hlep then simply dont post.
If you want help and need a built H22 look into the prelude forum. They thave some pretty built H22's in there. Most likely you'll have to get the engine built and sent to you from elsewhere. I know ebay sometimes have shops that sell fully built engines already.
I hate how these Accord guys have no pride in their cars. Yes it wasnt built for speed but wasnt this whole customizing thing built upon that? It was all about taking you average car and MAKING it FAST!
Its like why build a slow *** stock rx-7 when you can just spend all that money and get like a Porsche?
Why build a vette when you can save that money and get a a fast Ferrari?
Why restore a POS when you can buy a new one?
Its all about liking the platform of that car.
This hobby has gone all out of whack.
I have no idea as to why im even posting.

well after you blow some of that money making it fast bring it to my shop in richmond for a stereo, alarm, wheels and tires, suspension, tint, etc...
if you spend that much money please make it handle to. i love my accord but if you want something that is truely fast and drivable every day get something with rearwheel drive. a front wheel drive w/ a **** ton of power isn't that great to drive. my friend has a 350hp teg and that thing is almost undriveable when i starts raining and get no traction in the dry through 3rd gear.

There is nothing wrong with the accord platform. I personally love it, esp the suspension on the 5th gens. But to exclude considering the rest of the cars in the world? Nah man...I'm in love with "performance" not the car per se.
In my view, modding dollars should be about bang for the buck....and for some, return on the dollar. You'll never see $15k back if you sell; you might see 15k back if you started on a different platform such as a mid-late 90's m3 however. Heck I paid less than a basemodel Toyota Echo and i'm kicking ~275 crank hp.
Car love and savvy financial thinking do not have to be mutually exclusive.
But to each his own.

GET AN STI! its well worth having u wont regret it its really cool that you picked the accord but in all suriosness.. the STI is much more of a car to be working on. and you will get more back when you decide to sell it, its commen sense. i dont know how many ppl would actually pay much for fixed up accord even if its really powerful.. it just not practical.. and with all that power in the accord.. it might be disasterous and dangerouse for it is not designed to have so much strain on the chassis and the car itself. i would think that maybe the accord wouldnt be able to handle it as well.. you drive wouldnt be as precise and fun as with the STI. if you want power youll prolly have sumwhere around 270 hp and then with your extra money you can ugrade the turbo and other things.. one more thing i think yoru girlfriend would like it bettter to be driven around in such a more exotic highclass car rather than a simple accord.
if its your desiger to do this its fine with me, but in the long run and the money i dont think its worth it.. good luck with making your decision. i hope you have fun also ... thats all that matters i guess
