Default Too much fuel in my b16 hatch

alright i recently bought this car. when i bought it it was throwing codes 9, 6, and 23. i fixed all those codes. from fixing those codes ive deduced that the guy who did the wiring for this swap was either stupid or lazy. i drove the car home and its been parked for about a week waiting for a new distributor. it came in the mail today. i got everything bolted up and went to start the car. it started okay and i drove it around the block. then i parked it

now for the problem.

it seems like the car is getting too much fuel. after tinkering with it for a while i found the only way it would start. if i unplugged all the injectors and tried to start it, it would start perfect and idle at about 2k before stalling. then if i put on the injectors and went to start it it would start. but it would start 1 out of 3 times and very roughly. id have to keep revving it for a few second then it would hold an acceptable idle. anyone else have these kinds of symptoms? im thinking it would be injectors stuck open? ive been messing with this thing for too long today so ill save the injectors for tomorow. anyone else have any ideas or questions?

what about the fuel pressure regulator? thats totally based on vaccum and wouldnt throw a code but could cause fuel delivery issues, do you have that tool that can measure your actual fuel pressure?

also possibly suspect a clogged fuel filter? although i doubt that.

then to check for injector pulse you need a really high quality DMM, my craftsman couldnt do it. either that or one of those stethescope things, but ive never used them so i have no input on that.

could be a faulty injector too, as you suspected, is what im agreeing with.

good luck.

its not the injectors or injector resistor box.
i swapped em for known good ones and no change.
could it be related to timing? i just put on a LS distributor and it seems to bog and i think i hear it detonating.
timing too far advance would make for a hard start right?

also just thought of this, could the coolant temperature sensor go bad without throwing a code?

Do you have an adjustable fpr?

Hmmn, i've had those symptoms before from vacuum lines being mixed up. Just a suggestion.

fixed everything and got it running code free today. i ended up running new wires to the ECT sensor, air temp sensor, and the tps. they all shared one common ground so i think that was the problem. thanks for all the help guys. vtec feels great
