What RPM range is considered mid-range anyway?

An intake, JDM header, and hi-flow cat would be a good start.

A drop-in filter, JDM 4-2-1 Header, cat, and exhaust at first.

I would say between 3,000 and 5,000 RPM Range.

I'll give the inevitable JRSC option. Great low and mid range power, it's like a completely different car. I can be cruising in fifth gear at 75mph and just punch it with no downshift. 100mph is only seconds away.

The downside? It's hard to tune right, expensive, needs a lot of additional parts (some of which aren't cheap), and doesn't make the top end power as advertised.

as far as basic bolt-ons go, do what b2fin said. You can also put some cam gears on and get some tuning done as well as ignition timing.

the AEM is *** for low/mid-range power...ever seen a dyno plot of one?

The best intake system for mid-range is a Comptech Icebox.

the mugen airbox is good for mid-range..i sat in a friends car when he installed it. noticable difference.
Also, someone recommended Spoon cams..its a good recommendation. Spoon cams offer loads of mid range power..i gained substantially on my f/i setup..and i have seen dynoplots of ppl with spoon cams compared to stock.

I`m happy with drop in filter, 421 header, bigger t/b and crower stage 2 cams..(street/ralley)

Still untuned but noticible harder pull between 4000 and 6000 rpm.
