HKS makes an excellent exhaust. Comptech is really good also. Can't go wrong with Greddy exhausts either. AEM or Injen r good intakes. Pretty much any big name company that you see regularly in magazines r reputable.

Dont make custom crap at an exhaust shop its a mistake. I cant understand how people honestly believe that if they go out and have something custom made, that it will be better than a big name company that spends thousands of $$$ on R&D. You honestly get what you pay for.

if you goto an exhaust chain, yes, you will get something less than inferior.

if you got an exhaust specialist, you will get something better made that a bolt-on for a lot less money.

i don't understand the brand whoring on bolt-on exhausts. for the minimal gains you get from exhaust mods (relatively speaking), $500+ vs $250. is the extra $250 worth having the decals?

its not about brand name whoring. what i'm getting at is, if you spend the extra money ur guaranteed to get a nice quality part that wont rust (most manufactures carry a warantee), sounds ahellovalot better, and wont fall apart.

i myself have done the custom route for my first exhaust and regreted it. like Grip said i went to an exhaust specialist who bent me a 2.5" exhaust w/ no resonators that worked fairly well w/ a weapon-r spl race muffler. but it sounded like freakin sh*t cause it was so loud. swapped that out for a greddy evo and never looked back. thing is i wasted $275 for the custom crap, so really its all up to u and what u want.

I initially went the custom 2.5" with no resonator and a oval muffler. That was a lot of fun until I realized even at 2k on the tach my rear hatch was rattling from it's loudness. Too much negative attention. I personally prefer the stock exhaust on the Type S. It's relatively free flowing, looks good, and more importantly quiet.

I dont know depending on the place you go you can get some nice exhaust done. Me personally im getting a custom 3inch exhaust with a custom 3 inch straight pipe, and the muffler will be an apexi n1 muffler with a very nice flex pipe

sorry I didn't mean yours 03acurarsx, I meant RsxInsomnia. Is his turbo? BTW you were wondering about a header right? DC makes decent stuff, some guys dont like it though, Comptech and Jackson Racing make a excellent parts for around $500, while Mugen and Toda are probably the best for $1100+

if I were you I'd go Greddy EVO2 or SP2, HKS Hi power, or the best of the 3 I think is a fujitsubo power getter.

older thread, but i felt compelled to mention:

contact user LIP about Strup--- he has it available...

that Strup exhaust is fine; it's full stainless, 2.25" ID, decent construction...good value IMO.
