pics: tranny oil change & mugen pedal install
many of the regulars will already know how to change the tranny oil, this is for the new guys.
the whole job (mtf change + tire rotation) took me about 1.5hrs. i took my time so i didn't break a sweat (it IS 60deg here in ct somehow???). i put the car up on 4 jack stands using my new kickass ac jack. the fill and drain bolts hadn't been turned yet so that took some effort. anyway, this isn't a how-to, just a where-is-this stuff.
here is the drain hole......well, draining!
this should give you a good idea where the action takes place. you can see the drain hole with oil coming out and the fill hole is to the top right of the black acordian-like cv boot.
the fill bolt is a bit of a pain to get to. i bought a funnel with a long collapsible tube (just like on those bendable drinking straws).
i'll post pictures of the pedals shortly.

Looking good. I'll be doing a tranny change sometime soon.
Does anyone have a pic on the other location where we can fill it up?

ok, mugen pedal pictures!
here is the instructions. it shows how to install the pedals via drilling or clip-on.
here are the stock clutch/brake pedal covers. they are soft pliable rubber. the throttle pedal cover is not included - we did not become good friends.
here are the mugen covers.
mugen ownz joo!
here is the backside of the clutch/brake cover plus mounting hardware. the red stuff is padding to keep the cover tightly under tension once installed - no rattling.
cover ready to install. the bottom of the cover has a groove to hold itself in place, the clip bracket on top tightens the cover securely to the pedal.
clutch pedal with no cover.
the throttle pedal cover has 2 mounting brackets. i didn't take it off for pictures because it is a bitch to install, but you can see where the screws pass through the pedal. once mounted, the throttle cover is very easy to adjust left - right to accomodate the user's preference. the cover has mulitple holes to allow the same versatility to those who will drill the pedal.
this is the hole in the carpet my dancing feet have created! shazaaam!
ah, finally done. this was a rather exhaustive exploration in the world of mugen pedal covers, eh?

Nice pedals. Can't wait till I get mine. I'm reffering to the another location where you can fill the tranny fluid. I remember sgt and a few others mentioning that it will be easier from this location.
So the mugen throttle pedal just clip onto or drill onto the stock throttle pedalswithout removing the stock throttle pedal?
Unlike the clutch and brake, which you have to take out the stock pedals to install the mugen pedals? Please correct me if I am wrong.

yes, the stock throttle cover must be removed. it is a hard plastic and is not easy to get off. in fact, i bent the throttle pedal in the process, but it was easy to bend flat again.
edit: the description of the 2nd tranny fluid pic should say the fill hole can be seen to the top LEFT above the cv boot.
this stuff was easy, just give yourself time. my next project is a valve adjustment, wish me luck!

you can really only get mugen from king motorsports. pollo diablo and i ordered together and they wouldn't give us a discount, oh well. i don't know what other pedals are like, but i love these, well worth $175 to experience the magic of heel-toe! http://www.kingmotorsports.com/produ.../interior.html
thanks for the clarification. I always thought that you only need to remove the stock brake and clutch pedals and mount the mugen throttle pedals onto the stock throttle pedals. I guess I was wrong. All 3 pedals have to be removed in order to install the mugen one. thanks
Ofcourse Aaron forgot to mention that I was the test monkey (pun intended) for the pedals....huhu...PHEAR my pedal cover removing skilzz....
The mugen pedal job t00k me little under 30 mins, including running extension cable from the apt to the parking lot to put the fear of god into the gas pedal with my dremel...
The mugen pedals are really g00d, you still have to rotate your f00t to heel and toe. Which I like, since there is almost no chance of hitting both pedals unintentionally. Some of the LARGE gas pedal covers I've seen have that problem...
